Lanvin confirms Bouchra Jarrar as Artistic Director following on from Alber Elbaz
Lanvin have today announced the appointment of Bouchra Jarrar as Artistic Director of Women’s Collections.
The company - who parted ways with precious Creative Director Alber Elbaz in October last year - revealed the news this morning after a week of speculation during Paris Fashion Week.
Speaking of the appointment, CEO of Lanvin Michèle Huiban said: "Bouchra Jarrar is a talented and visionary designer. She is the obvious choice for Lanvin."
"Her timeless style is in keeping with the style and values of our company, founded by Jeanne Lanvin more than a century ago."
"Her talent, her high standards and her mastery of cuts and fabrics will bring a breath of freshness and modernity into the house, while respecting its soul as the oldest Paris fashion house, a symbol of French elegance."
Jarrar, who currently designs under her eponymous couture label which she founded in 2010, has more than 20 years of experience, working first for Jean-Paul Gaultier, Balenciaga - where she spent 10 years - and then at Christian Lacroix.
Speaking of her ner appointment, Jarrar said: “It is a huge honour to continue promoting the Lanvin style, with designs created in the company's 'ateliers' by teams who possess extraordinary expertise."

Jarrar will begin in her new role on 14 March and reveal her debut for the house in September for spring/summer 2017.
