|||Cape Town – A 41-year-old woman is in police custody after she was allegedly found in possession of a live hand grenade, ammunition and a significant amount of drugs at at a house in Woodstock, Western Cape police said on Thursday.
The arrest happened on Wednesday night after police received a tip-off from a member of the public about drugs and ammunitition at a house in Station Road, Woodstock.
“This search led to the discovery of a live hand grenade, 1188 mandrax tablets and four rounds of ammunition,” police spokesman Andre Traut said.
“The suspect, a 41 year old female was arrested and detained on charges of the possession of an explosive device, possession of ammunition and dealing in drugs. She is due to make a court appearance in Cape Town tomorrow.”
