Governors Samuel Ortom, Simon Lalong and Abdullahi Abubakar of Benue, Plateau and Bauchi states, respectively, have commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari over the death of Minister of Labour and Employment, James Ocholi.

The three governors paid a condolence visit to the president on Wednesday, March 9, at the presidential villa, The Nation reports.
According to Governor Abubakar, not only did they come to console Buhari, they also came to consult and brief him on issues affecting them in their respective states that affects the nation as a whole.
Governor Ortom said Ocholi was with him three weeks ago to celebrate the marriage of his brother’s’ daughter.

He described Ocholi as good friend to the entire people of Benue state, saying his death was unfortunate.
“I’m also here to commiserate with the President on the death of our brother, the Minister of State for Labour. The whole of Benue State is in mourning. We pray that the Almighty God will bless his soul and those of his family members,” Ortom added.
Winifred Oyo-Ita, head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF) also commiserated with Buhari over the unfortunate death of the minister.
Ocholi, his wife and son died in a ghastly car accident on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Sunday, March 6.
His family has presented a proposal to the government for his burial to take place between Wednesday and Friday next week.
Meanwhile, some relatives of the late minister are suspecting foul play. His uncle said the Ocholi’s death was political and quite suspicious as some people want to score some political points against the system.
