A heavy explosion took place near the Indian consulate in Jalalabad city, capital of eastern Nangarhar province, around 12 pm on Wednesday. Reports suggest that at least two attackers begun exchanging fire with security forces after the blast but they were gunned down pretty soon. All diplomats and employees of the consulate are safe.
