In the midst of all the usual brouhaha and beef that has characterised celebrity news in 2016 – the latest being the family feud among the Okoyes of PSquare fame – Nigerian artists have continued to release hot new music and accompanying videos.
While some of the singles have gone straight to the top of the charts, others have been helped by their videos. From remixes to debut singles, here are the top music videos of the week.
1. Zero Competition – Skuki
Skuki released their single, Zero Competition, a few weeks ago and have now dropped the video to the song. Directed by Adasa Cookey for Square Ball Media, the video depicts the two brothers on a mission to win the hearts of two beautiful ladies.
2. Yes Melo (Remix) – Dotman feat Olamide
On Thursday, February 18, U & I Music’s budding star, Dotman, released the video for his well received duet with YBNL boss, Olamide, titled Yes Melo Remix’; tipped by music critics to be one of the biggest street favourites of 2016. The artist hopes to gain a much bigger following with the release of the video.

3. Gum Body – Skales and Young D feat. Da L.E.S
Skales teamed up with ace producer, Young D, to drop the single Gum Body featuring South African rapper Da L.E.S a few weeks. The video was produced by Don Picasso Entermedia and was shot on locations in Cyprus and Johannesburg.
4. Jalolo – Sean Tizzle
Sean Tizzle’s love song, Jalolo, showed a different side of the artist and has gone on to become a fan favourite. The video shot in the U.S. was directed by Capital Studio.

5. All I Want Is You – Banky W and Chidinma
Banky W and Chidinma’s All I Want is You, produced by T.K, may be termed the best video of the week. Produced and directed by Banky W for EME and Tilt Productions, it was shot on location in Lagos Nigeria and stars actor Zack Orji as well as actress/singer Onyeka Onwenu.

6. Ayato – DJ Jimmy Jatt feat. BigLittle
Legendary DJ Jimmy Jatt featured upcoming artist BigLittle on his single Ayato. BigLittle had already won the hearts of fans with his own singles, Ola ‘Otan and As E Dey Hot. The video was directed by Paul Gambit.
7. Emergency -Dbanj
The song premiered at the 2015 GLO CAF awards dinner earlier this year in Abuja. The Kokomaster released the single officially the day after the event. Now, we have been blessed with its video. The jam reminded us why we loved Dbanj and the video didn’t disappoint either.
8. Get it Together – Tiwa Savage and Paul Okoye
Mavin first lady, Tiwa Savage and one of the Okoye brothers, Paul PSquare, are the ambassadors for the Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative, a family planning campaign. To promote the campaign, the duo debuted the song Get it Together earlier this week.
