Talk About Quality Eats
Quality Eats is a very exciting new restaurant that has recently opened in NYC. It's part of the Quality Meats, Park Avenue restaurant group, but is their first to bring more veggies to the menu and offer a lower price point. Located on Greenwich Ave, smack dab in the center of Greenwich Village in NYC, Quality Eats is at a prime location. Long bar and great cocktails, which are great for drinks; lunch menu is fun and approachable; and dinner would be a great spot for a group, quiet dinner, or date. Love a restaurant that has a menu that would both please the most die-hard carnivore and also strict vegetarian. Flavorful and fun menu with tons of options.
Cool concept because although there are many cuts of meats on the menu that are the "odd" cuts, and therefore, have awesome prices. No full filets, rib eyes, and porterhouses on this menu. Instead, there is the Bavette cut (comes with a cup of creamy, sweet corn creme brûlée), flatiron, hanger and skirt -- all for under $26. Nice!
The crab and avocado started was super fresh with chunks of fresh crab and citrus. Loved this hearty but refreshing dish. With a seasonal mezzo salad, it was a vegetable delight with roasted kabocha, beets, and a delicious tasting of veggies. The most high end item on the menu was the Don Ameche sandwich -- one of the best sandwiches I have ever had to boot -- on garlic toasted bread, sliced filet, and smeared on creamy chicken liver and sautéed onions. WOW. For mains, the grilled octopus was fresh and a really nice portion, served on a bed of rice beans and beluga lentils - had a delicious and authentic Spanish flare from the time the chef lived in Spain. Fun sides are always a must: curly fries served in a brown bag, Asian style sautéed Chinese broccoli.
Dessert is a must, of course, at any of these restaurants. Really fun sundaes with fresh ice creams made in house. We got the banana bacon ice cream with sliced bananas, bacon, and caramel sauce on top. The s'mores ice cream sundae was also very good -- had a big graham cracker cookie on top, and was drenched in marshmallow pillars and chocolate sauce.
Brunch on the weekends? Can't wait to go back.
