Supreme court verdict: Wike blasts Peterside
– Rivers state government has faulted the statement made by APC governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside
– The government added that he should not be quick to throw aspersion on the Supreme Court but should wait when the court gives out its reasons for making the verdict
– It also asked Peterside to come out with facts that proved that Wike truly influenced the decision of the Supreme Court
Following allegation made by gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dakuku Peterside that Governor Nyesom Wike allegedly influenced the decision of the Supreme Court; the Rivers state government has slammed Peterside and his party over the statement.
Wike warned Peterside over Supreme Court’s judgement
The government urged the APC in the state to substantiate the allegations made against the justices of the Supreme Court, Daily Post reports.

Austin Tam-George, the state commissioner of information, made this disclosure while briefing reporters at Government House, Port Harcourt, on Tuesday February 9.
The commissioner explained that the statement credited to Peterside was inspired by the leadership of his party and showed their sign of frustration.
He pointed out that the advice of ex-governor Peter Odili to Wike should be misinterpreted by the APC urging the main opposition party in the state to patiently wait for the Supreme Court’s reasons for its verdict.
Tam-George said: “We reject such insinuations on the part of Dakuku Peterside. The advise given by Peter Odili who is a medical practitioner and a member of the PDP was purely fatherly which Governor Wike took. Unlike Dakuku Peterside who never took wise counsel.

“The Governor never made reference to our respected soldiers who laid and still lay their lives for us in the fight against Boko Haram. What he simply said was that any attempt proposed by the APC to win all the seats will not yield anything.
“What Governor Wike said is that even if you withdraw soldiers from the frontline of the Boko Haram to come and rig elections here, we will not obey such orders. These were the statements he (Wike) made.
“So this attempt to try to distort the statements is something we condemn.”
Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of Transportation and former governor of the state had expressed regret over allegations of corruption against him by his successor, Wike.
Amaechi faulted the Rivers state governor for picking a church to spread his imaginary tale which according to him was another bogus, fallacious concoction.
