According to The Sun, chairman of the committee Itse Sagay during the visit faulted criticisms by some Nigerians that the present administration was concentrating all its efforts on the issue of corruption.

He said: See the amount of suffering that is going on in this country, the number of people that have died; in the civil service, see what is happening; salaries cannot be paid in most places. Do you know the effect on those families; ambitions which our children had to reach the heights but they can’t achieve it. There is unemployment everywhere, all edifices are crumbling; the country is down and you say corruption is over-flogged. It has not been over-flogged.

The committee urged the minister to assist in the ant graft war by mobilizing media agencies under the ministry to join the struggle against corruption.

On his part, the minister promised that the present administration will not relent in its fight against corruption. He said the anti-graft war was especially crucial at this time when it has gained momentum among Nigerians and attracted global support.

Meanwhile, Lai Mohammed has said Nigerians misunderstood the Change mantra of the All Progressives Congress which was used in winning the 2015 presidential election.

According to him, Nigerians thought that the change meant things would completely change in Nigeria immediately President Muhammadu Buhari took over but things don’t happen that way.

He said the country cannot continue to be doing things the same way and expect a different result.
