A great tragedy was slightly avoided at the Ikeja-Allen area of Lagos at about noonday, February 8, when a fully loaded commercial bus lost its brakes and was forced to swerve off the designated road.
In the course of its unguarded swerve, the bus brushed a brand new Kia car, got onto the express demarcation (median) and continued on its troubled motion down the road until it came to its final place of rest.

Unaware of what had transpired, the lone occupant of the car was petrified when she heard from an already gathered crowd, how she had narrowly escaped.
Lady whose car was badly destroyed as the bus driver tried to maneuver the bus without brakes.
Trying to catch her breath, the lady thanked heavens for not getting in harms way, even as passengers alighted from the bus all looking horrified after seeing with their eyes, that which would have been their death.
The incident intensified a traffic jam that was already building-up along the Ikeja-Allen road. Traffic officials arrived the scene soon enough to help ease the traffic, even as they tried to get the damaged vehicles of the road.
Unaware of what had transpired, the lone occupant of the car was petrified when she heard from an already gathered crowd, how she had narrowly escaped.
There were no reports regarding any injuries sustained within the course of the accident.
