State of emergency declared in a region of Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz – A local-scale natural emergency has been declared in the Bayanaul district of the Pavlodar region.
According to the draft decision of the district’s akimat (local government), published on the "Open NPA" website, the emergency was declared to eliminate the consequences of adverse weather conditions.

"The purpose of declaring the state of emergency is to promptly address the consequences caused by strong winds. The expected duration of the activities is from March to April 2026," the document states.

Local authorities will coordinate actions to mitigate the effects of the emergency, and the document also notes that local residents may be involved in recovery efforts.
Bad weather in the Pavlodar region
This week, the region has been experiencing severe weather conditions: strong gusty winds, snow, blizzards, and areas with almost no visibility on the roads. Rescue teams have been freeing drivers from snowdrifts.
Doctors and police officers have shown how they reach patients and guide motor convoys through blizzards.
According to the Department for Emergency Situations of the Pavlodar region, on March 11, during a search operation 10 kilometers from the village of Maykube in the Bayanaul district, and 2 kilometers from a farm, rescuers found the body of a man born in 1980. He had gone out on horseback to herd cattle on March 10 at around 14:00 and was a worker at a collective farm.
A few days ago, the Emergency Situations Department reported that due to strong winds, with gusts reaching up to 30 meters per second, 33 roof collapses were registered, and electricity was cut off in several settlements.

"To assess the damage and coordinate recovery efforts in these areas, emergency commissions are operating under the leadership of local executive authorities," the statement said.

Meanwhile, medical teams continue to save lives even in bad weather, going out on calls.
Storm warning in the Pavlodar region
According to meteorologists, a storm warning has been issued for the Pavlodar region. On Saturday, March 14, more precipitation (snow, rain), ground blizzards, and icy conditions are expected. In the west and south of the region, fog is expected in the morning and night. Southwest winds will reach 15–20 meters per second in the west, north, and east of the region.
