Tengrinews.kz - Police have shut down an underground drug laboratory producing synthetic drugs in the Zhetysu region, according to Polisia.kz.
The operation was carried out jointly with the prosecutor's office and the National Security Committee.
"Two foreigners arrived in Kazakhstan on the instructions of their 'supervisor' to organize illegal production. During the search, equipment for drug production was found, along with more than 6.4 kilograms of mephedrone and a 200-liter reactor with remnants of precursors for further production," the police statement said.
The foreigners and their accomplice, a resident of Astana, have been taken into custody. Efforts to identify other co-conspirators are ongoing.
