Tengrinews.kz - In Kazakhstan, especially in Almaty, mopeds are extremely popular with delivery services. Hundreds of couriers can be seen on the streets all year round, delivering orders at lightning speed. However, when it comes to winter, it is worth considering: how safe and appropriate is it to use a moped in the cold months?
As we were informed by the Administrative Police Committee, there is no official ban on the use of mopeds in winter in Kazakhstan. Therefore, in theory, you can travel on this transport all year round.
However, winter makes its own rules. There are no special winter tires for mopeds on the Kazakhstan market. This is explained by the fact that mopeds are more common in hot countries where there is no need for such products.
Moped drivers, especially couriers, essentially take risks for the sake of earning money. Roads covered with ice or snow create a huge danger for driving such transport.
As a result, mopeds in winter are left to the brave or the needy. This is done at their own risk, with an understanding of all the consequences of such a choice. However, it is worth remembering that by riding a moped in winter, they also put other people at risk.
Earlier, it became known that new rules prohibiting riding mopeds without a driver's license and license plates will come into effect in Kazakhstan in the spring of 2025. In connection with this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has developed corresponding amendments to the rules for state registration of mopeds.
