Tengrinews.kz - Aktau will become the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2025. Journalists asked the Mangystau region’s akim (governor) Nurdaulet Kilybay how much funding would be allocated for events marking this occasion.
During a briefing in Astana on December 20, Kilybay stated that approximately two billion tenge will be allocated from the regional budget.
"We started planning earlier this year, understanding that next year we will host a large number of guests. Our task is not only to receive them but to showcase our traditions, culture, and hospitality in the best way possible. The regional budget has allocated around two billion tenge specifically for this purpose," Kilybay said.
He added that some funds will be used to build and renovate infrastructure, which will remain beneficial to local residents after the events.
The akim also noted that the TURKSOY organization will provide financial support, but the exact amount has not yet been determined.
Earlier, Nurdaulat Kilybay revealed the plans for the former Presidential residence site in Aktau.
