Tengrinews.kz - 29 trucks were towed in western Kazakhstan due to heavy snowfall, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
The incident occurred on the Zhanaozen-Turkmenistan highway in the Mangystau region, where severe weather and heavy snow brought traffic to a standstill. Officials reported that one truck had veered off the road.
The ministry’s press service stated that rescue teams cleared the road, towed the stranded vehicles, and restored traffic movement in cooperation with KazAvtoZhol representatives.
The MES urged drivers to follow winter safety rules, pay attention to storm warnings, and avoid traveling outside populated areas during adverse weather conditions.
In case of emergencies, citizens are advised to contact the rescue service at the 112 hotline, which operates 24/7.
Earlier, Kazhydromet forecasters warned residents of Almaty for December 17.
