Tengrinews.kz - Akim of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek spoke about the progress of light rail transit (LRT) construction in the capital. According to him, the construction of the light rail line will continue in winter.
The Astana akim (governor) spoke about the construction plans at the next session of the maslikhat.
"A big question about LRT. This year we completed the overpass part, next year we will completely complete the construction part of the facility. We are already laying the first kilometers of the rail-beam structure in the area of the new railway station, this work will continue in the winter," Kassymbek said.
The Astana mayor also named the approximate dates for the arrival of LRT trains in the city.
"Next year we plan that the first trains will arrive closer to September-October. This is a colossal job," he added.
Earlier, construction of a light rail transit (LRT) depot has begun in Astana.
