Tengrinews.kz - An unusual photo of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was shared from the sidelines of the CSTO summit in Astana.
The photo, taken by photographer Saparbek Zhaksylyk, features the President of Kazakhstan illuminated by light, smiling warmly. A pin depicting the Kazakh flag is visible on the lapel of his suit. The picture was captured during informal interactions among the leaders at the summit.
The CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) Council session took place on November 28 in Astana, attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
During his speech, President Tokayev emphasized the significance of the CSTO beyond military cooperation:
"Amid contemporary challenges, the CSTO consistently proves its relevance as a security guarantor for all member states. Our coordinated actions, mutual trust, and support strengthen our collective capacity to tackle the most complex and large-scale issues. It is important to underline that the CSTO is not merely a military partnership but a unique mechanism that unites our efforts and resources to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our nations," Tokayev stated.
