Tengrinews.kz - WhatsApp has introduced a free feature for transcribing voice messages, according to the messaging app's developer blog.
To enable the feature, users need to go to "Settings," then select "Chats," choose "Voice message transcripts," and download the language pack.
The developers noted that the list of supported languages may vary between Android and iOS, but Russian and English are available on both platforms.
To transcript a voice message, users should long-press the message and select "transcribe" from the drop-down menu.
"Transcripts are generated on your device so that no one else, not even WhatsApp, can hear or read your personal messages," the developers assured.
It was mentioned that the feature will be rolled out worldwide in the coming weeks for select languages, with additional languages to be added in the coming months.
