Tengrinews.kz - The Central Election Commission announced the preliminary voting results for the referendum on the construction of the nuclear power plant.
As of the morning of October 7, the preliminary voting results are as follows: 71.12 percent of citizens voted in favor of constructing a nuclear power plant, while 2,452,071 citizens voted against.
Recall that the referendum on the nuclear power plant took place on Sunday, October 6, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. According to the Central Election Commission, the preliminary turnout by 8:00 PM was 63.87 percent, with a total of 7,820,918 people voted.
In the referendum, Kazakhstanis were asked, "Do you agree with the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan?" The two possible answers are: "Yes, I agree" or "No, I do not agree."
