Tengrinews.kz - The bodies of four foreign tourists were found at the summit of the highest peak of the Alps from the French side.
According to the Independent, the four tourists, two from Italy and two from South Korea, called for rescuers on Saturday afternoon, reporting that they were stuck on the mountain due to deteriorating weather conditions. Rescuers attempted to reach the climbers, but the weather prevented them from doing so by both land and air.
When the weather improved and allowed for a rescue operation, the team went in search of the missing tourists. All four were found near the summit of Mont Blanc at an altitude of 4,700 meters. They were deceased.
Preliminary information suggests that the men died from hypothermia.
French authorities have launched an investigation into the tragic incident.
Earlier, a British citizen reported his son missing to the police in Astana after the young man suddenly stopped communicating and sent out a distress signal.
