Tengrinews.kz - A state of emergency has been declared in the Philippine capital Manila, according to mass-media.
"The Manila City Council on Wednesday, 24 July, declared a state of emergency in the metropolitan area due to flooding caused by rains from Typhoon 'Gayemi,'" Xinhua reported.
Widespread flooding has forced the government to evacuate people from Manila Bay and river areas, as well as close schools and offices, according to Chinese media.

According to DW, the typhoon killed 16 people. The water level reached one metre in some places in Manila.
About 770,000 people affected in different regions of the Philippines will receive financial assistance from the government.
