Il Dna è il portatore delle informazioni genetiche presenti negli organismi viventi. Nel caso di Vogue Italia, quando penso a quali siano queste informazioni mi vengono in mente coraggio, sperimentazione, rischio, provocazione: tutti elementi che sono stati essenziali per renderlo “l’organismo” che è nella moda. Soprattutto, credo che queste qualità siano la traduzione di immagini, decine di migliaia di immagini, scattate da fotografi cui è stata data la fiducia per esprimere se stessi. Poi penso a chi ha offerto loro questa opportunità, penso a Franca, mia madre.

The DNA is the carrier of genetic information present in nearly all living organisms. When I think about what that genetic information is for Vogue Italia, I think about courage, experimentation, risk, provocation, all essential to what made it the organism that it is in fashion. Most importantly I think that those qualities are the translation of images, tens of thousands of them, shot by photographers who were given the trust to express themselves. And then I think about who gave them that chance, I think of Franca, my mother.
