The U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) has released its benefit payment schedule for the year 2024, offering beneficiaries key information about the dates when they will receive their payments.
This calendar is strictly maintained during the year, as it is money that millions of beneficiaries depend on for their daily livelihood. There is still a pending payment for June 2024, and we can already start reviewing the dates for the month of July.
For those receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), payments are scheduled for the first of each month, unless it falls on a weekend or holiday, in which case the payment is made the previous business day.
Social Security and SSI Beneficiaries Before May 1997
If a beneficiary began receiving both Social Security and SSI before May 1997, their Social Security payments are made on the third day of each month, while SSI payments are issued on the first day of the month.
Payment dates are organized based on the beneficiary’s date of birth:
If a beneficiary does not receive his payment on the expected date, it is recommended to wait an additional three working days before contacting Social Security. This allows time for payments to be processed and reach their recipients.
In the month of June, the payment dates are clearly outlined on the calendar. Beneficiaries should take note of the following dates:
*The June 18th payment should have been due on Wednesday the 19th, but it was brought forward because the 19th commemorates Emancipation Day (known as Juneteenth), which is a holiday. The SSA does not pay benefits on weekends or holidays.
In July 2024, Social Security benefit payments will be made on the following dates:
