The Cuneo-based brand will provide the athletes with its top-range Lemma RT model.
First racing event: Women Cycling Pro Costa de Almería (Spain), on 28th January.
Officine Mattio has signed a partnership agreement with the UCI Women’s Continental team BePink.
The company will be providing the team, for their training sessions and races, with their top-range bike, the Lemma RT.
The partnership with the team is a major step in Officine Mattio’s history, which for the first time ever is supporting a team of the UCI circuit.
The team from Lombardy, which is the result of Walter Zini and Sigrid Corneo’s passion and expertise, and the brand founded by Giovanni Monge Roffarello, share a history of entrepreneurial determination and courage, as well as a pursuit of aesthetics and top performance. Their shared goal is to grow and reach new important achievements.
Today is the first opportunity for the athletes, who will be training in Tuscany, to use the Officine Mattio bikes for their group training sessions. The first racing event of the team, on the other hand, will be the Women Cycling Pro Costa de Almería, in south - eastern Spain, on 28th January.
“We are excited to join the BePink project. We immediately had a connection with Walter Zini, as we both want to do something great in what has always been his world: women’s cycling. We at Officine Mattio love challenges and look forward to getting started!”, said Giovanni Monge Roffarello, CEO of Officine Mattio.
Lemma RT: the bike provided to the team
The Officine Mattio bike that the team will be using will be the Lemma RT, the iconic model by the brand from Cuneo, specifically equipped with top-range components. An extremely high - performing bike, with an exclusive, glamorous style dedicated to the women’s team. All the athletes will be supplied with two identical bikes, one to train with and the other for competitions.
The Lemma RT has a wrapped frame in T1100 carbon fibre, whose name “Lemma” comes from the Alpine climb near the company’s premises on which the founder, Giovanni Monge Roffarello, tested their first prototype. The team’s bikes will be assembled with top-range components: SRAM Red AXS 12v groupset with power meter; stem, handlebar and wheels from Deda Elementi, Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tyres, Repente saddle, carbon pedals from LOOK and Officine Mattio bottle cage.
In terms of the bikes’ aesthetics and graphics, the shape’s perfection and the clean lines can be witnessed in their unmatched perfection in the timeless elegance of the colour black and the powerful, biting energy coming from a changing detail, on the top tube, created by combining the team’s signature colours for this season: magenta and purple. Officine Mattio thus sealed its partnership with BePink (magenta) and the team’s other technical partner, the digital APP called Imatra (purple).
“We are excited to start this new adventure with Officine Mattio” said BePink’s Team Manager Walter Zini. “BePink too, like Officine Mattio, is the result of wanting to create a project that could be a strong player in our wonderful sport and we believe that, also thanks to their support, we can further improve. We will soon be competing again and are anxious to once again put a number on our back!”
