THE United States government expressed its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the Filipino airman who passed away Thursday in a tragic accident during Balikatan 2016 joint exercises between the Philippines and the US. In a statement issued on Friday, the US Embassy in Manila said it is working closely with Filipino counterparts to investigate the incident wherein a member of the 710th Special Operations Wing of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) died during a jump exercise in one of the training activities in the Balikatan 2016 joint military exercise with the United States. “He will be remembered for his great courage and service to his country,” the US embassy said.
