Arsenal have the opportunity to sign their long-term target this summer, according to Calciomercato.
The Gunners are planning for a busy transfer window, and there could be multiple additions to the squad.
A marquee striker is the top priority, and Calciomercato claim that Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic could be back on their radar.
Arsenal have Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko as their top targets, but Vlahovic could reportedly be the fallback option.
The Serbia international is attracted by the prospect of a Premier League move and believes the playing style would suit him.
The Gunners have been long linked with Vlahovic. It is reported that the striker will ‘immediately pack his bags’ to join the club if an offer is made.
Juventus are hoping to secure £42 million for the 25-year-old, whose contract expires in June 2026.
Vlahovic no longer a realistic target for Arsenal
Arsenal were determined to sign Vlahovic during his time at Fiorentina, but he chose to join Juventus instead in January 2022.
Vlahovic signed for the Bianconeri after a tremendous 2021 with 34 goals, but he has failed to replicate the same level of displays.
The Serbian has netted just 56 goals from 141 outings for the Bianconeri. This includes 15 goals from 40 appearances this campaign.
Vlahovic won’t be an upgrade on Kai Havertz upfront. He has squandered 15 big chances in the Italian top-flight alone this term.
In our view, the ship has already sailed, and the Gunners are now exploring better alternatives to bolster their striking department.
Arsenal may choose to sign either Gyokeres or Sesko, and it appears the club have started negotiations to land the latter from RB Leipzig.
Sesko has netted 21 goals for the campaign. At 21, he has immense potential and could become a world-class striker in the long run.
