May 17: Partly cloudy with intermittent rain and thunderstorms. Northern to northeastern wind at 9–14 m/s. Nighttime lows of +18°C to +20°C, daytime highs between +29°C and +31°C.
May 18: Partly cloudy with periods of rain and thunderstorms. Heavy rain, hail, and squalls expected during the day. Northeastern wind at 9–14 m/s, with gusts reaching 15–20 m/s. Temperatures will range from +16°C to +18°C at night and +19°C to +21°C during the day.
Almaty weather
May 16: Partly cloudy with no precipitation expected. Southwest wind at 3–8 m/s. Temperatures will range from +19°C to +21°C at night and reach +34°C to +36°C during the day.
May 17: Continued dry weather with partly cloudy skies. Southwest wind at 3–8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures between +19°C and +21°C, and extreme daytime heat of +35°C to +37°C.
May 18: Partly cloudy with rain, thunderstorms, and possible hail expected during the day. Southwest wind at 3–8 m/s. Temperatures will range from +21°C to +23°C at night and +25°C to +27°C during the day.
Weather forecast across Kazakhstan
Most regions of Kazakhstan will continue to experience hot and dry weather through May 17. Temperatures in the southern parts of the country are expected to soar as high as +44°C. In the central, northern, and eastern regions, daytime highs will reach up to +37°C.
Starting May 16, weather conditions will begin to change in the west, north, and northwest, where rain, thunderstorms, and possible hail are forecast. Heavy precipitation is expected in the Mangystau region.

Kazhydromet previously reported that May temperatures are expected to be about 1°C above average across most of the country, making this spring significantly warmer than usual.
