Military parade will be held in Astana

Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has announced a military parade in Astana as the central event of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
In an interview with the newspaper "Ana Tili," Tokayev emphasized that commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory will be a key part of the state agenda this year.

"Kazakhstan made a significant contribution to the defeat of Nazism. Our fathers and grandfathers fought heroically on all fronts, and Kazakhstan also served as a reliable rear, playing a vital role in supplying the army with weapons, industrial goods, and food," the President said.

He noted that preparations for the upcoming Victory anniversary were discussed during a session of the National Kurultai in Atyrau. The initiatives presented at that time have already been implemented. The three classes of the "Aibyn" Order have been named after national heroes Sagadat Nurmagambetov, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, and Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev. Additionally, the 604th Air Base of the Air Defense Forces has been named after legendary pilot and twice Hero of the Soviet Union Sergey Lugansky. The heroism of Aliya Moldagulova, Manshuk Mametova, and Khiuaz Dospanova will also be honored.

"The celebration program is quite extensive. The military parade in Astana will be the main event. We will honor veterans and home front workers, ensuring none of them are overlooked. Concerts, exhibitions, documentaries, television programs, historical books, and photo albums will be organized. Research efforts to preserve the memory of our soldiers will continue," Tokayev added.

He also mentioned that the commemorative calendar will include events dedicated to the upcoming anniversaries of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly's 115th birthday, Malik Gabdullin's 110th, and Aliya Moldagulova's 100th.
Tokayev expressed confidence that the Victory Day anniversary will resonate deeply with all Kazakhstanis, as there is no family untouched by the war’s tragic events. "It is our shared duty to remember the fallen, honor the heroes, and safeguard peace on our land,” he said.
It is noteworthy that Kazakhstan has not held military parades since 2020.
