Plane involved in Aktau crash underwent full inspection in October

Tengrinews.kz - The Embraer 190 aircraft that crashed near Aktau on December 25 underwent a full technical inspection in October, according to AZERTAC.
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) confirmed the information in response to a media inquiry.
The aircraft, registered as 4K-AZ65, was manufactured in 2013. According to AZAL, the plane had a total of 9,949 landings and logged 15,257.22 flight hours.

"The last complete technical inspection of the aircraft was conducted on October 18, 2024," the statement reads.

Since the last check, the aircraft had flown 671 hours.
The captain, Igor Kshnyakin, was an experienced pilot with over 15,000 flight hours, including approximately 11,200 hours as captain, AZAL confirmed.
A briefing in Aktau provided updates on the December 25 plane crash, where questions arose regarding the fate of the aircraft's wreckage.
Earlier, Timur Suleimenov announced that the black box of the Embraer 190 passenger plane had been recovered.
All Kazakhstani citizens aboard the Embraer 190 have been confirmed dead.
The Azerbaijan Airlines flight, en route from Baku (Azerbaijan) to Grozny (Russia), crashed three kilometers from Aktau at 11:30 A.M. local time on December 25. The passenger plane was unable to land in Grozny due to heavy fog and was first diverted to Makhachkala before being redirected to Aktau.
