Tengrinews.kz - Starting from January 1, 2025, Kazakhstan will officially become a partner country of BRICS. This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told the media that Russia had received confirmation of the willingness to become BRICS partners from several countries, including Kazakhstan. Some countries wanted full participation right away, while others preferred to participate in specific events as observers.
"Undoubtedly, one of the important outcomes of the summit was the establishment of the BRICS partner country category and the agreement on a list of 13 countries. These countries were sent corresponding proposals. As of today, confirmations of readiness to become BRICS partner countries have been received from Belarus, Bolivia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan," said the Russian presidential aide at a briefing.
At the same time, he added that "in the near future, responses are expected from four more countries that were also invited."
Earlier, the presidential Advisor and Press Secretary Berik Uali reported that Kazakhstan had received proposals to join BRICS. Uali noted that these proposals were carefully considered by the Head of State, and at his instruction, the relevant government agencies are analyzing them from the perspective of Kazakhstan's national interests.
