Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Energy Almassadam Satkaliyev.
The Head of State heard a report on the main results of work and plans for the development of the fuel and energy complex in Kazakhstan, as well as on the implementation of large oil and gas and energy projects.
Tokayev was informed about the progress of the heating season and the operation of large heat and energy supply facilities.
"The Head of State instructed to keep special control over the issues of the heating season and the implementation of projects to modernize the energy infrastructure," the press service of Akorda notes.
The President also noted the importance of accelerating the implementation of the project to build a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Kazakhstan commenced official negotiations with shortlisted potential suppliers of nuclear power plant technology.
The referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan was held in October. According to the final results, 5 561 937 citizens, or 71.12%, voted in favor.
At the referendum, Kazakhstanis had to answer the question "Do you agree with the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan?" There were two answer options: "Yes, I agree" and "No, I do not agree."
