Tengrinews.kz - Representative from "Samruk-Kazyna", Yelzhas Otynshiyev, has provided updates on the sale of the Kazakh airline Qazaq Air to Vietnamese investors.
During a government session in the Mazhilis, Otynshiyev assured that key negotiations defining the terms of the deal have been finalized.
"On December 20, 2024, the State Commission on the Issues of Modernization of the Economy approved the main conditions of the deal. By the end of the year, we expect a positive decision from the board of directors of 'Samruk-Kazyna' and the government," Otynshiyev stated during the session in Astana.
According to him, two key requirements have been set for the Vietnamese investor.
"First is the repayment of a 38.4 billion tenge loan by the end of 2044, and second is the procurement of 20 aircraft from Boeing or Airbus within five years, with an option to extend the timeline by two years," he added.
Otynshiyev concluded that the Vietnamese company has expressed readiness to provide guarantees to meet these conditions.
