Tengrinews.kz - Meteorologists have warned the residents of Almaty and three other cities in Kazakhstan.
"On December 11, 2024, unfavorable meteorological conditions leading to air pollution are expected in the cities of Atyrau, Almaty, Zhezkazgan, and during the night in Ust-Kamenogorsk," the statement said.
Unfavorable weather conditions involve a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm winds, weak winds, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (pollutant) substances in the lower atmospheric layer.
Earlier, forecasters clarified the weather forecast for winter 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan. It is noted that in general, the winter temperature regime is expected to be within the climatic norm with precipitation exceeding the long-term norm. However, periods with cessation of precipitation and abnormally low air temperatures are not excluded.
