Tengrinews.kz - Police in Astana uncovered a major drug stash disguised as a Dyson warehouse.
According to the police, a 35-year-old resident of Astana had rented a warehouse under the pretense of selling Dyson appliances. However, the premises were being used to store a large quantity of drugs. Officers from the anti-drug trafficking department, working in coordination with the prosecutor’s office, identified and detained the suspect.
"During a search of the suspect's vehicle, officers discovered 11 packets containing a powdery substance. A subsequent search of his apartment led to the seizure of prohibited substances, including methcathinone, synthetic drugs, cannabis resin, and 357 pre-packaged drug parcels ready for sale. In total, over seven kilograms of drugs were removed from circulation, preventing the distribution of 35,000 single doses," the Astana Police Department reported.
Additionally, plastic cards advertising an online drug store were found.
Investigators revealed that the confiscated drugs were intended for distribution through social media platforms.
"The suspect admitted to acting as a 'Dyson warehouse' for an online drug store. A pre-trial investigation is underway, and the man has been placed in a temporary detention facility," law enforcement officials stated.
