Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has provided data on foreign tourists who visited Kazakhstan in 2024.
According to the data, the number of domestic tourists increased by 562,000 over the first nine months of 2024, reaching nearly 6 million people (5.973 million Kazakhstani travelers).
It was also revealed that the number of foreign tourists visiting the country was almost twice as high.
"The inflow of foreign visitors amounted to 11.5 million people, which is almost twice the figure for the same period in 2023," the Ministry of Tourism reported.
It was noted that 969,000 of these tourists stayed in hotels and other similar accommodations.
According to the ministry, these figures reflect "a growing interest in Kazakhstan as a tourist destination."
The Ministry of Tourism also reported that the number of accommodation facilities increased by 306, reaching 4,315 across the country, while their total capacity grew by 18,000 beds, bringing the total to 226,000.
"Total revenue from accommodation facilities grew by 27%, amounting to 224 billion tenge," the ministry added.
