Tengrinews.kz - Another case of poaching has been recorded in the Almaty region.
The incident was announced on the official Instagram page of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee.
On the night of November 24-25, inspectors from "Okhotzooprom" detained a local resident near the village of Akshi in the Ili District of the Almaty region. The man was on horseback and found in possession of the carcass of an animal believed to be a goitered gazelle, a species listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan.
"The suspect in illegal hunting and the seized evidence have been handed over to the Ili District Police Department. A pre-trial investigation has been launched," the committee stated.

Authorities reminded the public that Kazakhstan imposes strict penalties for the illegal hunting or transportation of rare and protected animals.
Earlier, it was reported that snow leopards from Kazakhstan will be monitored by British drones.
