Tengrinews.kz - A Kazakhstani operator is increasing prices for some tariffs. We found out the reasons for the increase.
Earlier, Kcell and Activ subscribers received messages about an increase in subscription fees for tariffs.
In response to an official request from the editorial staff, Kcell (owner of the Activ brand) reported that from December 13, it is planned to adjust the cost of 18 Kcell and Activ tariff plans.
"The average increase in cost will be from 6% to 25% (an average of 400 tenge) depending on the current tariff conditions," Kcell reported.
The company stated that the tariff policy of Kcell and Activ is formed depending on market conditions.
"Our cost price is growing annually, for example, the increase in the price of electricity directly affects the cost of the tariff. For comparison, one base station consumes as much electricity as 20 average apartments. In addition, fluctuations in exchange rates also affect the cost of the services provided, since the equipment needed to modernize and maintain the network is purchased abroad," the company explained.
The Agency for Protection and Development of Competition, in response to a request from Tengrinews.kz, noted that since 2017, the state has not regulated prices for mobile operator services. According to the law on communications, operators determine prices and tariffs themselves.
