“Will become a new meme“: a mountain goat was caught on video in Charyn
A video that caught our attention appeared on the official Instagram account of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee.
“Camera traps have been installed in the Charyn Park to study the biodiversity of mammals. The devices allow for effective tracking and accounting of animals. These pictures were taken in 2024 by camera traps installed in the park. The photographs show animals from Kazakhstan - a Siberian mountain goat and a fox. Each frame reminds us of the richness of nature and the importance of its protection,” the committee commented on the video.

The Charyn National Park has the status of a nature conservation and scientific institution of national significance and is under the jurisdiction of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The natural park was created on an area of 93,150 hectares in order to preserve and restore the unique natural complexes of the Almaty region, "having special ecological, historical, scientific, aesthetic and recreational value."
Earlier, a lynx, listed in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), has been spotted in the Altyn-Emel National Park.
