Tengrinews.kz - Minister of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov commented on the possibility of the dollar exchange rate rising to 600 tenge.
"When the government planned the economic forecast indicators, we established an average exchange rate. The planned and approved annual dollar rate this year is 460 tenge. Currently, we have not changed this forecast. If we look at the overall dynamics of the year, we have averaged around 460 tenge. This is very important. If we observe the dynamics of the exchange rate at this average level, it is currently at 460 tenge," Baibazarov said at a government briefing.
According to the minister, this forecast will not change until the end of the year.
"We are closely monitoring the fluctuations in the exchange rate. The Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Timur Suleimenov, expressed his opinion yesterday. The dollar rate is determined in the market based on supply and demand. Therefore, according to the current plan, residual transfers from the National Fund will come in until the end of the year. This will definitely have a positive impact on preventing the exchange rate from rising too sharply," the minister added.
