Tengrinews.kz - The medium-scale repair of the Almaty-Kokpek-Koktal-Shonzhy-Khorgos road, covering the section from the 172nd to the 187th kilometer, has been completed, reports KazAvtoZhol.
According to the national company, the road width varies from 8 to 20 meters, with two-meter shoulders on each side. The repair included laying a six-centimeter thick hot asphalt concrete layer along the entire stretch, reinforcing the shoulders, and applying road markings.
"A team of 30 specialists and 20 units of special equipment were involved in the project," the road authority stated.
Earlier, a section of the national highway in the Kostanay region was also reopened.
Medium-scale repairs were completed on the R-64 road between Zhitikara and Chaikovskoe, covering kilometers 12 to 27.
The road’s width measures six meters with 1.5-meter shoulders on each side.
