Tengrinews.kz - Janice Combs, mother of Sean P.Diddy Combs, has defended her son amid allegations of sexual crimes, stating that he is being unfairly vilified.
In a statement to the Daily Mail, conveyed through attorney Natalie G. Figgers, the 84-year-old Janice expressed her devastation and disappointment regarding the accusations, labeling the situation a "public lynching."
"Today, I speak to you as a mother, devastated and deeply saddened by the allegations against my son, Sean Combs. It is heartbreaking to see my son condemned not for the truth but for false stories," Janice stated.
She emphasized the unbearable pain of seeing her son judged before he has had the chance to prove his innocence.
Janice acknowledged that her son has not always been truthful, particularly concerning a previous incident involving his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, where P.Diddy was filmed during a violent episode at a Los Angeles hotel in March 2016. According to her, the quick settlement of Cassie's lawsuit last year, just a day after it was filed, only increased the pressure on him and encouraged others to seek financial gain.
"I’m not trying to portray my son as perfect because he isn’t. He has made mistakes in the past, like all of us. My son has not been completely honest, especially regarding incidents of violence. But that does not mean he is guilty of the horrific accusations being leveled against him," Janice explained.
She added that the line between truth and lies is often blurred, making it frightening for individuals to admit parts of their story, especially if it falls outside societal norms or is too complex to comprehend.
Janice believes her son’s actions in settling the case with Cassie led to a surge of other lawsuits aimed at financial profit. She asserted that the defamatory accusations against him are driven by individuals motivated by greed rather than justice.
"These false allegations deprive real victims of sexual violence the opportunity to seek justice," Janice noted.
In her view, the recent allegations, including those of sexual misconduct involving minors, are a result of how swiftly the lawsuit with Cassie was resolved, which spurred a wave of opportunistic claims.
Janice lamented that her son is suffering from a loss of freedom and reputation without the opportunity to defend himself.
"The hardest part of all this is seeing my beloved son stripped of his dignity not for what he has done, but for what people choose to believe," she said.
Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of a fair trial, urging the public not to jump to conclusions before her son has the chance to present his side of the story.
"Like any person, my son deserves to be heard and given the chance to prove his innocence," she added.
The scandal surrounding Sean Combs continues to escalate. Attorney Tony Buzbee, representing 120 alleged victims, many of whom were minors at the time of the alleged incidents, stated that the accusations span from 1991 to the present. He claimed his clients were victims at parties where they were offered drug-laced drinks.
Despite the allegations and mounting pressure, P.Diddy’s attorney, Ericka Wolfe, vehemently denied all charges, labeling them baseless and defamatory. Combs himself maintains his innocence and is prepared to fight for his reputation in court.
Janice concluded her statement with a plea for the public to support her son and refrain from making premature judgments.
"My son is not the monster he is being portrayed as, and he deserves the opportunity to tell his truth," she emphasized.
On September 17, P.Diddy was arrested in a New York court after jurors presented him with charges of violence and human trafficking. These allegations cover the last 16 years of his career and are connected to the organization of so-called freak-off parties, elite events allegedly designed for the sexual exploitation of women.
