Rumors about the detention of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard appeared earlier online. The message mentioned Major General Konstantin Voronkin and Dmitry Vasilyev, the Deputy Chairman of the Ak Zhol party.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the information regarding the detention of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirms the detention of the Deputy Commander of the National Guard on suspicion of illegal activities. Investigative actions are being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Ministry takes corruption very seriously and will conduct an objective investigation in accordance with the law," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
It should be noted that earlier, a circulated message online claimed that the detained Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard allegedly received a bribe from Dmitry Vasilyev, the founder of a limited liability company and Deputy Chairman of the Ak Zhol party.
