Tengrinews.kz - Former minister Kuandyk Bishimbayev has been transferred to a maximum security colony, the Penal System Committee reports.
"The convict was sent to the maximum security prison according to the sentence. According to the law, convicts are sent to the places of serving their sentences by attachment," the report said.
Further information cannot be disclosed according to the Penal Code, as committee notes. The convict was sent to a high-security colony by court sentence. Such colonies are reserved for those who have committed particularly serious crimes with a recidivism or have already served time.
Newcomers and those transferred from strict and light conditions are held in the regular conditions of the maximum security colony. After nine months of good behaviour, they may be transferred to light conditions.
Under normal circumstances, they can:
Spend up to five monthly estimated figures on food and necessities;Receive four parcels or packages and four postal parcels per year;
Have four short visits and one extended visit per year;
Have four short and four long visits per year.
