The Manchester club expect Trafford to leave, and they want to bring in a high-quality deputy to compete with and support Gianluigi Donnarumma.
In fact, City have already conducted some background checks on Charles’ situation ahead of a possible move to re-sign the 20-year-old from Sheffield Wednesday.
