One journalist has now revealed how highly Tottenham Hotspur players rate Roberto De Zerbi’s training methods compared to those of the club’s last three managers.

According to the journalist, it is understood that many Spurs players believe De Zerbi’s coaching surpasses that of their previous three managers combined.

Before his appointment, Tottenham had Ange Postecoglou, Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor in charge across the past three seasons, but many players feel De Zerbi’s methods have been elite.

Reporting on the shift in mood, Miguel Delaney outlined how the squad have responded to the former Brighton man’s approach and the clear impact it has already had at the training ground.

He wrote: “After months of utter misery at Spurs, there is genuinely a changed mood around the training ground. The players, according to numerous sources, “love” De Zerbi.

“They feel engaged, like they are actually progressing. It is more than just the energy that comes from a new manager – since Igor Tudor certainly did not inspire this response – or even the clarity that comes from actually having a permanent coach again.

“De Zerbi offers an idea, and enthusiasm. This is precisely why some around the club are said to be conspicuously confident of staying up – even if we will not see whether that is actually justified until we watch his new team in a few games. The situation remains complicated, and highly pressurised. Others at Spurs, of course, remain anxious.

This is not the first time we have heard positive reports from the Spurs players about De Zerbi’s methods on the training pitches.
