’90s style is back in a big way—and G-Shock is leaning all the way in. The new G-Shock GAV-01 Transparent Series takes the brand’s bold, retro-futuristic design and dials it up with fully see-through watch cases in neon colorways. At $155, these statement-making watches combine throwback nostalgia with modern durability and tech.
Cast in intense neon green, bright orange, deep purple, and smoky black, the transparent exteriors evoke a late 20th-century Hypercolor and iMac DV aura and allow a peak at the silhouette of the watch structure and movement beneath. The oversized 49.1×58.2×19.6 mm dimensions are meant to stand out on the wrist but the large-and-in-charge size is made more wearable and comfortable via its organic shape and integrated, resin bezel and band.

The layered analog-digital dial features color matching hour hands and silver minute hands on each of the four variations. Those hands are magnetically attached, enabling the brand’s recently-debuted "Shock Release Hand" technology to boost impact resistance. The minute hand “detaches” to mitigate any bump, bang or knock’s effect on time telling, then reattaches and corrects itself after a few minutes automatically. The watch’s quartz movement is accurate to ±15 seconds per month and comes equipped with a battery that can last up to 10 years…. Sorry, Duracell.

The four new versions boast the same water 200 meters of water resistance and the original GA-V01 models as well as the same functionality—a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, world time for 48 cities, five daily alarms, and a bright Super Illuminator double LED light.
The green GAV01SKE-3A, orange GAV01SKE-4A, purple GAV01SKE-6A, and black GAV01SKE-8A are available for $155 at select G-Shock retailers, gshock.casio.com, and the G-Shock SoHo Store.
