Limited-edition watch drops tend to move fast—and this one checks every box. The Timex Ironman 8-Lap Limited Edition for Hodinkee celebrates 40 years of the iconic sport watch with a translucent case, INDIGLO glow, and subtle design tweaks that collectors love. With just 2,000 pieces available and a $135 price tag, this retro-inspiredTimex release feels destined to sell out quickly.
Originally created in 1986 with triathletes in mind, the Limited Edition Ironman offers a playful take on the beloved design with a fully frosted crystal case cast in lightweight resin. The material’s translucent nature allows the blue INDIGLO backlight to illuminate the entire case, and expose the digital quartz movement within.

To reduce visual clutter on the dial, the design team deleted the water resistance text and the words “Light,” “Set,” and “Mode” on the bezel have been replaced with a black Hodinkee signature and black dot markers.
The Limited Edition retains the OG 39mm case size (10.5mm tall) and all the functionality athletes need to train for and endure a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run—à la a high-contrast digital display that could be read on the move, a countdown timer, an alarm, a calendar, and a 100 meters of water resistance.

The 31.26 gram case is paired with an ergonomic 23mm light grey strap that tapers to 18mm. Glossy white IRONMAN logos on both sides contrast the soft matte texture. The case-back is etched with both the Timex and Hodinkee logos as well as Ironman 8-Lap.
Production is limited to only 2,000 pieces. So it’s likely to sell out in short order. So if you want one, act quickly. The Timex Ironman 8-Lap Limited Edition for Hodinkee is available exclusively at Watches of Switzerland for $135.
