Trump Makes Worrying Threat About Future Plans for the Military amid Peace Talks with Iran
Donald Trump made some worrying remarks in a late-night statement amid peace talks with Iran.
On Wednesday (April 8), the 79-year-old president took to social media to address the current state of affairs as his administration tries to find an agreement with the Middle Eastern country.
He made it clear what would happen if the talks fall apart. However, the president notably ended the statement with another worrying threat.

“All U.S. Ships, Aircraft, and Military Personnel, with additional Ammunition, Weaponry, and anything else that is appropriate and necessary for the lethal prosecution and destruction of an already substantially degraded Enemy, will remain in place in, and around, Iran, until such time as the REAL AGREEMENT reached is fully complied with,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Regarding Iran, he continued, adding, “If for any reason it is not, which is highly unlikely, then the ‘Shootin’ Starts,’ bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before. It was agreed, a long time ago, and despite all of the fake rhetoric to the contrary – NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS and, the Strait of Hormuz WILL BE OPEN & SAFE.”
“In the meantime our great Military is Loading Up and Resting, looking forward, actually, to its next Conquest,” he wrote, concluding, “AMERICA IS BACK!”
It isn’t clear what “next conquest” the president is referring to.
Just Jared reached out to the White House for clarification about the president’s remark, but did not hear back at the time of publication.
Since returning to office in January 2025, the president and his administration have positioned him as a president of and for peace. He’s famously taken credit for ending “eight wars” and was gifted the Nobel Peace Prize by its actual recipient, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado. Notably, her gifting Trump the award did not make him the winner of it.
Despite his talks of peace, the president has made increasingly hostile remarks amid his war with Iran, which he launched alongside Israel in February 2026. Trump also had a combative response when asked if he’d be committing a war crime if he followed through on repeated threats on Iranian infrastructure.
