Peaceful scene with catchable waves

Hello Friends,

In sharp contrast to the drums of war rumbling in the human world, the sea and waves are as they have been for billions of years. The sun was shining and the breeze was coming faintly from the WNW along the Northern beaches this morning. School holidays mean more keen surfers in the line-up and happily there are waist-plusses on offer at Dee Why. We have wind swell coming from the NE along with a 10-second period, 1.4 metre SSE swell.

Tide is currently coming off the 0.68 low at 0635 and will hit the modest 1.2 metre high at 1225. Water’s on 23°C.

Wind should stay mellow this morning before drifting around to a light SE’r after midday.

We should still have waves of some sort tomorrow morning, and from the look of the models, similar small but rideable conditions into Saturday. Then, if the really hopeful predictions come to pass, the energy levels kick up into the interesting range Sunday. From Monday through most of next week, we could well have classic autumnal conditions, ie head-high plusses and offshores.

The beat goes on.
