Hulu, AppleTV, Prime Video, Paramount+ & AMC Cancel 8 Popular Shows in 2026
We're not that far into the 2026 television and streaming viewing season, but already a string of popular shows have been canceled.
Prime Video, Hulu, AppleTV, Paramount+ & AMC have canceled eight popular shows so far this year. That comes on the heels of Netflix, ABC, NBC, and CBS canceling a combined 11 shows in 2026. One of the canceled shows is from a wildly popular franchise; another stemmed from the body of work of an iconic author. Yet another canceled show featured some of the biggest names in the history of comedy.
Here are the eight show cancellations.
Four Popular Shows Are Ending on Prime Video
Four shows are on the chopping block at Prime Video. According to DirecTV, they are:
- The Runarounds. The show by Outer Banks creators focused on a coming-of-age rock band, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
- The Kelly Clarkson Show. The show is ending after seven seasons, so Clarkson can spend more time with her kids following the death of her ex-husband, according to TODAY.
- Sherri. Sherri Shepherd's talk show is also ending, People reported. “This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production – which has found strong creative momentum this season – or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd,” Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus told People. “We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.”
- Access Hollywood. "NBCUniversal is making changes to our first-run syndication division to better align with the programming preferences of local stations," NBCUniversal executive Frances Berwick said in a statement to Fox; the show was also available on Prime Video, per DirecTV.
Hulu Is Canceling a Popular Show After 3 Seasons
Hulu is canceling the show Tell Me Lies.
"Tell Me Lies creator and showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer confirmed that the show will end with season 3," People confirmed.
"After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale," Oppenheimer, 39, wrote on Instagram.
"This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it. Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately we felt it had reached its natural conclusion," she added.
AppleTV Is Canceling a Show That Starred Some of the Biggest Names in Comedy
AppleTV is canceling Palm Royale.
According to Deadline, "the Emmy-nominated dramedy was canceled at the streamer after two seasons."
That's despite a star-studded cast that included popular actors like Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Julia Duffy, Mindy Cohn, and even Carol Burnett. Deadline described the show as "a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons (Wiig) in 1969 as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society."
Paramount+ Is Cancelling a Show That Falls Under a Wildly Popular Franchise

Paramount+ is canceling a show that falls under a wildly popular franchise. Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is on the chopping block.
The show, which started running on Paramount+ in 2023, "will end with its upcoming second season," Variety confirmed.
We’re incredibly proud of the ambition, passion, and creativity that went into bringing ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ to life,” CBS Studios and Paramount+ said in a joint statement to Variety. “The series introduced audiences to a bold new group of characters, welcomed familiar faces, and expanded the ‘Star Trek’ universe in exciting new ways. We’re grateful to Alex Kurtzman, Noga Landau, Gaia Violo, and the entire cast and crew who pushed storytelling boundaries in the spirit of Gene Roddenberry’s vision. We look forward to sharing the upcoming second and final season with everyone, and continuing to celebrate the cast, crew, and all that was accomplished with this series.”
AMC Is Canceling a Supernatural Thriller That Is Part of the Anne Rice Body of Work
Talamasca: The Secret Order is hitting the chopping block at AMC.
TVLine confirmed that the show, which is part of the Anne Rice franchise, was canceled. According to TVLine, the show is a "supernatural thriller — which centered on a secret society that works to maintain balance between the mortal world and the world of vampires, witches, and demons."
"While we are not proceeding with another season of 'Talamasca: The Secret Order,' we are proud of the series and grateful for the efforts of everyone involved," an AMC spokesperson said in a statement to TVLine. "The Talamasca has a storied place within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and we expect to see at least some of these characters, and the organization itself, in future expressions of the franchise."
