Manchester United will return to action on April 13 against Leeds United at Old Trafford.

A rare three-week break, brought on by international commitments and FA Cup fixtures, has offered the squad a chance to reset and recharge.

The United squad will travel to the Republic of Ireland today for a four-day intensive training camp in Dublin.

With interim manager Michael Carrick having time to think, here is how we could set up a perfect starting XI that could run riot against Leeds.

Goalkeeper

Senne Lammens

Senne Lammens has been a revelation for Man United and should undoubtedly start between the sticks.

Defence

Diogo Dalot, Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw

Harry Maguire is suspended for the Leeds United clash after picking up a straight red card during the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.

Lisandro Martinez is expected to return from a calf injury he sustained before the trip to Everton in February. The £56.7 million signing could replace Maguire in the left centre-back spot.

Diogo Dalot has rediscovered his rhythm under Carrick since returning to his natural right-back role. Luke Shaw retains his spot on the opposite side, with doubts over the fitness of Patrick Dorgu.

Midfield

Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes

Carrick has placed his trust in this midfield trio throughout his 10-game spell and it is easy to see why.

Casemiro will be eager to repay the unwavering support of the fans with a commanding performance.

Mainoo has seven games to impress England manager Thomas Tuchel and book a spot in the 26-man World Cup squad.

Bruno Fernandes is the best player in the league and is just four assists away from matching the all-time record for most assists in a single season. He would aim to reduce that difference and move closer to rewriting history.

Attack

Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko

It is time for Carrick to unleash Benjamin Sesko from the start, rather than holding him back as an impact substitute. With the game likely to open up, United will need their most clinical forward leading the line for maximum impact.

Bryan Mbeumo could switch to the right flank, forcing Amad Diallo to the bench again. Mbeumo has suffered a dip in form lately but it is time for him to show why he is one of the best attackers in the English top flight.

On the left, Matheus Cunha retains his place after consistently stepping up in key moments this season.
